LANDSHAPES The paintings are familiar landshapes that draw inspiration from the natural world. Lush summer lit sugarcane fields, majestic oaks and mysterious cypress are favorite subjects. In the moment ( plein air) paintings capture the spirit of the land. "I try to document the essence of what I see and feel by looking into itand being open to the color vibrations nature sends my way. The healing truth of nature is a wonderfully infinite subject.

RIVERSPIRIT The mixed media icons incorporate found objects from along the Mississippi River batture. I start with one main piece and study it until the starting point is revealed. I try different configurations based upon basics of design.The piece takes on it's own identity as things are added or subtracted. I know a piece is finished when nothing that is added or subtracted enhances the message.
